The 3 basic pillars of compliance are - Classifications / Valuations / Rules of Origin - the importance of the latter has been exacerbated highlighted by the recent 'tariffs' impositions and controversy. “Rules of Origin” for preferential treatment are especially intricate, hinging on both the Harmonized System (HS) classification and the specific origin tests of each trade agreement. In this second session, we’ll demystify the end-to-end Rules of Origin workflow from pinpointing the correct HS code and selecting the applicable preference criterion to fulfilling exporter and importer declaration obligations so you can confidently claim every eligible tariff benefit.
